Yuva Nestham researches the impact of a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum that aims to improve the self-esteem and positive life skills of schoolchildren through capacity-building in the following areas:
- Social awareness
- Relationship skills
- Responsible decision-making skills
- Gender-equitable norms
The curriculum attempts to promote empowerment skills by providing a supportive environment for discussion as well as specific activities to improve positive life skills such as confidence, leadership, critical thinking, trauma healing, cooperative learning, responsibility, effective communication, and coping.
1,350 students in 25 schools across Medak District are benefiting from this initiative.
